Many of you reading this article were born into the Living Church of God. You have probably heard a minister, your parents, and other adult members affirm, “This is God’s true Church.” Yet, how can you prove this for sure? There are many other churches that also claim that they are God’s Church and the youth in those organisations probably are taught to believe that they have things right. So, how can you be sure you are in the right place? Did you know that according to some estimates there are over 33,000 different Christian denominations worldwide? Jesus Christ said that He would build His Church and that He would be with His disciples until the end of the age (Matthew 16:18; 28:18-20). However, how can we know that we are in the true Church of God?

Some assert that it doesn’t really matter what Church we attend and muse that “we are all God’s people, no matter what we believe, or what organisation or Church we are a part of”. Although such reasoning sounds good, it simply does not correlate with clear Biblical instruction by Jesus Christ and the apostles.

Although proving God’s Church to yourself will take time as you mature physically and spiritually, it is actually not as complicated as you may think. In fact, to get you started, it will only take a few minutes of your time if you are interested, to prove the answers to three questions. Here are the questions that can change the direction of your life into the simplicity of the Truth:

1. Which Day is the Christian Sabbath and do the holy days need to be observed?

If you can prove that the seventh-day Sabbath still needs to be observed today by the Church of God as the apostle Paul believed (Hebrews 4:9-10; cf. Genesis 2:1-3), this will narrow your search to just a handful of Christian groups. Moreover, if you prove that the holy days were kept by the original Church (1 Corinthians 5:6-8) and will be kept during the Millennium (Zechariah 14:16-19), the search for the Truth gets even narrower!

2. Is God a Trinity?

Proving that God is not a Trinity and that the Holy Spirit is not a person would put you on the same wavelength as the apostles and Jesus Christ Himself, who believed no such thing (see John 1:1-2; 17:20-23)! Indeed, proving that God is a family who is currently composed of two eternally divine beings – the Father and the Son – with more members of the family to be added later, will swiftly remove almost all of the 33,000+ denominations from the list and actually leave you with a small group called the Church of God (Acts 20:28; 24:5).

3. Who is preaching the true Gospel of the Kingdom of God to the world?

The Living Church of God – which practices and believes the same things that Christ taught and the apostles believed – is preaching this very message more powerfully than any other group like it. The “good news” is that Jesus Christ is literally going to return to this earth and set up His kingdom and it that shall never be removed (Daniel 2:44-45).

Yes, by simply asking these three questions – and coming to the right Biblical and historical conclusions (1 Thessalonians 5:21) – you can KNOW and KNOW THAT YOU KNOW where God’s true Church is today.

Do you have the courage to look into these things for yourself in greater detail and the faith to believe what you read in your Bible? If you do, God will clearly show you where He is working today. This will lead you to become a passionate and zealous member of the Living Church of God where you recognise that this is not just Mum and Dad’s Church; it is God’s Church and you can be a part of it too!
