Proove God

By Adam Jennings

There have been many situations in my life that have pointed me back to the questions of does God exist and can I prove it? No doubt these thoughts have crossed your mind too.

Reflecting on my life, I believe I’ve seen God putting me in situations where He wanted me to realise that He is in control and He does exist.

I would like to describe to you why I know God exists and is real through the words of Psalm 19, in the hope that you can catch this vision and prove these things for yourself.

You need to be personally convinced of God’s supreme existence, as this information and understanding will dramatically affect your life.

I will give you two pillars that you can use to stand firm in the knowledge that God exists. If you do this, these pillars can be used to build a personal relationship with God. These pillars are: Creation and seeking God.

The Creation

Scientists have discovered that Earth’s position in the solar system is finely tuned—any closer to the sun, and we’d burn; any farther, and we’d freeze! This precision, like the intricate code of DNA in every living cell, points to a purposeful, intelligent Designer.

There has to be a God who has put the ocean in its place, making both salt and freshwater, and then animals to live in both environments.

A major inspiration is to read Psalm 19. It is a perfect explanation from a human perspective (inspired by God) of someone who has seen the creation and can comprehend that there is a God who made it. Verses 1-4 explain beautifully what God’s hand has made in the heavens.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world.”

This to me, is certainly the best way to reveal who God is; through looking into His creation. His creation is all around us. A Great Designer had to make these things and give them a purpose. His intricate creation reveals His personality and nature in amazing abundance and wonder.

To grow and develop, you need to prove God’s existence, and this can be done if you are prepared to do it!

Start by going into His creation such as a park or garden and look at the various trees, flowers and different animals and consider the depth and purpose of what is around you, and the genius of the Creator.

Seek God

King David invites us to seek God!

He explains that God’s laws are perfect and His statutes are right and pure, showing that mankind can have a relationship with his Creator.

After observing His creation, we are then to comprehend His laws and His ways. This understanding is more precious than fine gold and sweeter than honey (Psalm 19:10).

David goes on to write that in keeping God’s way of life, there is great reward.

“ Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward” (Psalms 19:11).

Psalm 19 is like a beautifully written storey line, which goes from seeing God’s creation, to understanding there is a God who has made everything, to then understanding that God exists and there are certain laws that if kept, bring joy, health, and wellbeing to our lives. It brings a peace of mind that, if lived by, will lead us to blessings and joy and also will see us developing the fear of God.

I encourage you to put these two pillars to the test. If you pray to God and ask Him to reveal Himself to you and study His word, you can prove that God exists!
