The Work in the Asia-Pacific Region continues to see positive growth in all areas. In 2024, we were blessed with an overall increase in income, church attendance and Tomorrow’s World subscriptions across the region. We deeply appreciate everyone’s prayers and support of God’s Work.
It is exciting to have Dr Winnail visit the Asia-Pacific Region in just a few weeks. Dr Winnail’s first stop will be in the Philippines where we plan to hold a ministerial conference in Manila from February 20-21. Mr Rajan Moses from Malaysia, Mr Htoowah Laybeh from Thailand and Mr Firman Bramantyo from Indonesia will also attend. Dr Winnail and I will be in Manila for the Sabbath and enjoy a social dinner that evening with the congregation. We will then travel to Brisbane and meet with members and the ministry before heading to Adelaide for a Trans-Tasman conference. Pastors from around Australia will attend, with Mr Paul Kearns and Mr Tony Leman joining us from New Zealand. Dr Winnail will conduct a short two-day conference in Adelaide before heading to Perth, Western Australia, and then on to South Africa and the UK. It is a great blessing to have Dr Winnail visit the Asia-Pacific Region and we certainly appreciate your prayers for a safe and profitable visit.
In March, Mr Kearns and I will travel to Vanuatu to visit the ministry and brethren. Our Elder, Mr Jerry Sam and his wife Colette have been faithfully serving 153 members scattered in various islands around the country. While in Vanuatu, we plan to hold a small public lecture in Port Vila and visit members in Port Vila and Orap. Members are still recovering from the recent earthquake – thankfully God has protected everyone and their properties. From Vanuatu, we will fly to Fiji to visit members and begin preliminary planning for the Feast of Tabernacles. Mr Kearns will stay in Fiji to observe the Passover, Night to be Much Observed and First Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. I will travel to New Zealand to keep the Holy Days with the Brethren in Christchurch.
I gave a sermon recently titled, “What is God’s Will?” It is important that we never lose sight of the very purpose for our calling and the commission Christ gave to His Church. Feeding the flock is vital; the bride must be ready for her wedding with Christ (Revelation 19:7-8). However, we as a church, must also be zealous to fulfill our commission to preach the Gospel of the coming Kingdom of God to all nations. I also asked, “What is God’s Will for us individually?” There is a profound statement by the Apostle Paul that has really struck me deeply. We read in 1 Thessalonians 4:3, “For this is the will of God, your sanctification”. Perhaps sanctification is not something we think a lot about, but to be sanctified means to be separate or to be holy. To be holy refers to being set apart; to reflect Christ’s character. It involves adherence to His laws, statutes and judgements and involves a transformatiom; not just externally, but also an internal transformation – conversion! Brethren, as members of the Living Church of God and indeed, the body of Christ, each of us have a privileged opportunity to be true representatives and ambassadors for Christ and for the Kingdom of God. Let’s make sure that we keep our lamps full and let our light shine in all that we say, think and do! Let’s continue to be surrendered to Christ and build a culture of faith and love in the church.
Finally, please continue to pray for all your brethren around the world, pray that God will open more doors for us to do the Work, pray for the HQ staff and especially for Mr and Mrs Weston as
they continue to serve us.
With sincere love and affection,
Regional Director, Robert Tyler
