Have you recently come across a very famous movie series titled, “Transformers?” This series seems to be very interesting to watch, which makes it difficult to move from your seat, due to the pull to watch every single scene. Transformers is a science fiction action film based on good robots (Autobots) saving the world from evil humans and robots (Decepticons).

Although we know these movies are just fiction, they can nevertheless pull our attention to be just like one of those Autobots to transform ourselves from human to something greater; a “Transformer,” if you will. God also wants us to be transformed ourselves, but from a different perspective; “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Rom 12:2).

In this verse, it clearly explains the need for the renewing of your mind and thinking, shifting from a worldly way of life and changing your lifestyle to a Godly way. The Apostle John warns us in 1 John 2:15-16, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world”. Eventually the pattern of this world is going to pass away but only God’s way will last forever (v. 17). This is why it is so important to transform your mind to create a better lifestyle that is based on God and truth.

However, we must also never forget that Satan himself can transform! As we read in 2 Corinthians 11:14, And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” Remember, Satan transformed himself into a serpent to tempt Eve, which led her and her husband to partake of the forbidden fruit, which led them to sin against God. This is why the Apostle Paul warned us be alert of the tactics of Satan and his false teachings. Satan and his ministers live in darkness but they transform themselves into light in order to bring us closer to the darkness (2 Corinthians 11:15). Therefore, we need to discern what is right and wrong through the light of God’s Word. Indeed, our mind, thoughts, and way of life must be like Jesus Christ and not of the world (Philippians 2:1-5; James 4:4).

Finally, a great transformation is going to take place in the near future! Jesus Christ is going to transform the whole world into His Kingdom/Government. We who are alive and remain faithful until to the end will be transformed from physical to spiritual (Rev 17:14). As a youth in the Church of God you too have that wonderful opportunity to be part of God’s family together with other saints. Think about your life! Which direction are you going? Is God a part of your life or He is out of the picture? If He is, make an effort to transform your mind, thoughts, and lifestyle to God’s way. In other words, BE A TRANSFORMER!
